Most of the problems associated with hard disk malfunctions can be solved by completely formatting it and creating new partitions. Unfortunately, this method leads to the loss of important information, which is very critical for users.

Instructions
Step 1
If your hard drive has a damaged system partition, try connecting the drive to another computer. After that, check the functionality of the remaining local disks. If they are all functioning normally, just copy the important files from the system drive.
Step 2
In the situation when you cannot access the desired partition of the hard drive and you need to save certain information, use the Mount'n'Drive program. Download the installation files for the utility. Run the installer.
Step 3
Open the main menu of the installed application. Wait a while while the available hard drives and their partitions are determined. Select the local disk that you want to recover with the left mouse button.
Step 4
Click the Mount button. After opening a new dialog menu, select a new drive letter and select the preferred file system. It is best to use the type that the damaged partition originally worked with.
Step 5
Wait for the new local disk creation to complete. Open the My Computer menu. Navigate to the contents of the mounted drive. Copy important files using your favorite manager.
Step 6
Close Mount'n'Drive after transferring the files you want. Now you can use utilities designed to restore the integrity of local disks, such as HDD Regenerator. This approach will save you from the possible loss of important files, allowing you to perform any manipulation of the hard drive.
Step 7
It should be noted that sometimes it is easier to reinstall the operating system and run a program that detects bad sectors. Use this option if you do not need to maintain the structure of the existing section.
