Color inkjet printers are widely used due to their low price and good print quality. But they also have significant drawbacks - for example, slow printing speed and frequent problems with cartridges. In particular, the cartridge may dry out after a long idle period.

Necessary

  • - plastic lid from the can;
  • - alcohol or vodka;
  • - syringe or rubber bulb;
  • - solutions for soaking the cartridge.

Instructions

Step 1

The possibility of restoring a cartridge directly depends on how long it has stood in a dried state. With a period of a couple of weeks, the chances of reviving it are quite high. If it comes to months, you can try to bring the cartridge back to life, but the chances of success are low.

Step 2

There are several ways to recover dried cartridges. Try the simplest one, then, if there is no result, move on to more complex recovery options. For the first procedure, prepare a plastic jar lid, a syringe and alcohol or vodka. Pour alcohol into the cap, then lower the cartridge with the print head down into the cap. Let the cartridge soak for a few hours, then remove it from the alcohol. Insert the syringe into the upper hole and try to blow out the cartridge with a strong jet of air from the syringe.

Step 3

If unsuccessful, try the next method. Put a kettle of water on the gas, wait until it boils. After that, substitute the dried cartridge head under the steam jet for 3-5 seconds. Be careful not to overexpose the cartridge in the steam jet, otherwise you may ruin it! Try to flush the cartridge with a syringe, then put it back in steam, and so on about five times. This option allows you to clean even thoroughly dried cartridges. Do not use it immediately, soak the cartridge in alcohol beforehand.

Step 4

If the steam does not help clean the cartridge, try soaking it in specially prepared solutions. The aging period in each is within a day. For the first procedure, you will need an acidic solution, its composition: 10% acetic acid essence, 10% alcohol, 80% distilled water. For the second, prepare a neutral solution of 10% glycerin, 10% alcohol and 80% distilled water. The third solution is alkaline: 10% ammonia, 10% alcohol, 10% glycerin, 70% distilled water.

Step 5

The use of different solutions is a very good method, as the successive change of the environment from acidic to alkaline allows you to dissolve even the most stubborn deposits. After soaking in each solution, try to flush the cartridge with a syringe. A rubber bulb can be used instead of a syringe.
