Gaining administrator rights by a user in the Windows version 7 operating system means enabling the built-in, but disabled by default, Computer Administrator account.
Instructions
Step 1
Log in to the system with your account and open the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button in order to enable the built-in, but by default disabled, computer administrator account. Go to the "Control Panel" item and expand the "Administrative Tools" link. Expand Computer Management and open the Utilities group. Select the Local Users and Groups section and expand the Users node.
Step 2
Open the administrator account by double-clicking it and uncheck the "Disable account in the dialog box that opens" box. Confirm saving of the made change by clicking OK. Return to the main menu "Start" and select the command "Log out". Use the "Administrator" account that appears in the login window and open the "Control Panel".
Step 3
Go to the User Accounts section and find your account to be elevated. Set the necessary rights and log in with the changed account. Please note that the built-in Administrator account is not password protected. If you plan to keep the active state of this account, you need to create a rather complex password, since actions on behalf of the administrator have the highest priority. It is recommended that you shut down all applications before changing the user and use the Log Out command.
Step 4
Use an alternative method to change user rights to administrator using the command line utility. To do this, once again return to the main system menu "Start" and go to the "Run" dialog. Type cmd in the "Open" field and open the context menu of the Windows command interpreter by right-clicking.
Step 5
Select Run as administrator and enter net user Administrator / active: yes in the command prompt text box. Confirm the selected action by pressing the Enter function key and exit the application.
