When trying to navigate a large amount of data, we often use the ordering of files by some parameters, for example, by the date of modification or creation. However, it is not always possible to find out the exact information about the document.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the directory where the document is located. Right-click on the file you need, the creation date of which you want to know. Open the "Properties" parameter in the context menu and view the contents of the first tab in the window that appears, the date and time of creation, editing, author's computer name, etc. are also written there.
Step 2
Please note that any way to find out the date of creation of a document cannot provide you with reliable information, because it all depends on the settings of the computer on which it was originally edited. If the system date was set incorrectly (this often happens when the BIOS parameters go astray), then you cannot find out the date when the document was created even using third-party programs, only the calculation method will help here.
Step 3
Open the directory where the document you need is located in the file manager Total Commander. Select it, view in an additional window information about the date of creation, modification, author, etc. For image files, there is also a function to view the camera model in addition to the date of the photo. The same applies to other managers for working with files on the computer, as well as cataloging programs and photo albums. Please note that many of them have special menu items and additional windows containing full available information about the file.
Step 4
If you need to know the date when an audio file was recorded, arrange the icons in the folder by modification date. Select in the "View" menu the tabular option for viewing data, in the column "Recorded Year" view the available information. You can also view this information in your iTunes library, Windows Media Player and other audio recording players that have the function of adding files to the library.
