The system clock readings in modern operating systems do not require constant adjustment, usually it is enough to set them once after installing the system and forget the path to the settings of this component. If intervention is still required, it will not be difficult to recall the procedure for Windows operating system.

Necessary

Windows 7 or Vista

Instructions

Step 1

Left-click on the clock in the tray or, as it is correctly called, in the "notification area of the taskbar". The OS will open a small window with an analog clock and calendar. If their readings really need to be adjusted, click on the link "Change the date and time settings" - it is located at the bottom of this window. As a result, a separate window with a set of settings on three tabs will appear on the screen.

Step 2

Make sure the UTC offset shown in the Time Zone section - Coordinated Universal Time - matches your local time offset. If not, click the Change Time Zone button, select the correct line from the drop-down list and click OK.

Step 3

Then click on the "Change Date and Time" button to access the calendar and clock controls. If you need to change the year, click on the calendar header - it contains the month and year. After clicking, only the year will remain in this line - click it again, and a selection list of past and future years will appear. Select the one you need, and the list of years will be replaced by a list of months - select it too, and when the numbers change months, complete the formation of the date.

Step 4

Below the analog clock is a digital hour, minutes and seconds indicator - use this to change the system time. If you click a couple of numbers that indicate the current hour, you can use the up and down arrow keys to change them. You can do the same by clicking on the arrows to the right of this control. Set the values for hours, minutes and seconds in this way. When finished, click OK.

Step 5

If you want your computer to automatically synchronize the system clock with an accurate time server via the Internet, go to the Internet Time tab. Click the "Change parameters" button, put a mark in the only checkbox of the window that opens. It makes sense to change the value in the "Server" field only if there are problems with the default value. Click the OK buttons in the two open windows and the procedure will be completed.
