disk or flash media with Windows OS

Instructions

Step 1

To restore the boot record of Windows 8 and 10 operating systems, you first need to connect the required media, which contains an image of the operating system that is already installed. After that, you need to restart the computer, enter the BIOS and select the BOOT section.

Step 2

In this section, set the boot priority so that booting from the desired media comes first. After selecting the priority, restart the PC again and, if the first step was performed correctly, the installation menu will appear in front of you. Do not click on the "Install" button. Here you need to select "System Restore", then - "Diagnostics", then go to the "Command Line".

Step 3

In the Windows 7 operating system, you should also select "System Restore", then in the window that appears, click on "Fix and Restart". If the system fails, you must go back to the "System Recovery Options", click "Next" and select "Command Prompt". Next, at the command line, enter: bootrec / fixmbr. A utility for writing MBR to the system partition is intended.

Step 4

Also note that the existing partition table will not be overwritten. After that, you will need to enter bootrec / fixboot. The command is required to write the boot sector in the system partition. Now enter Exit and restart your computer.
