Instructions

Step 1

To begin with, it should be said that installing a second operating system on a computer with an operating OS and one sector on the hard drive is a risky business. You can lose both operating systems, and, therefore, transferring documents and files to another drive will be quite problematic. To prevent this from happening, it is recommended that you first save all the necessary files to CD / DVD-disks and flash drives, then format the hard disk and divide it into sectors, and only then install two operating systems one by one. The first step is simple: save everything. your valuable photos, documents, databases, music and other files on removable disks and a USB flash drive, since during the formatting of the PC everything will be deleted.

Step 2

In the second step, you need to format the hard drive and split it into sectors, or parts. Usually there are two parts - "C" and "D". Partition Magic is required to partition the hard drive into sectors. Burn it to an autorun disk. Load the BIOS (using the Del / F2 / F8 key while starting the computer) and select priority boot from the floppy in the boot settings, save the changes. Restart your computer and insert the PartitionMagic disc. In the program menu, select fast formatting, using the NTFS file system; then split the HDD into the required number of sectors (for example, 2 or 3), preferably at least 50 GB each.

Step 3

After completing the operation, insert the CD with the distribution kit of the host operating system and restart the computer. The OS installation will begin. Select the installation to section “C” and follow the step-by-step instructions on the screen. After installing the first operating system, restart your computer and then insert the second operating system CD into your CD drive. Install the second OS in the same way as the first, using the prompts on the screen, but on a different sector - "D".
