There are many resources on the Internet where you can download both 2D and 3D themes for a desktop of a wide variety of genres and sizes for free. You just have to use a search engine convenient for you.
Instructions
Step 1
Open your favorite search engine and read the main service menu carefully. Usually on its first page or on the "More", "All projects", "All services" or similar tab there will be a menu item "Pictures" (most often), less often - "Cards" or "Wallpapers". Select this item and click on it with the left mouse button. You will see a large array of previews of wallpapers available for download in one way or another.
Step 2
Some search engines, like Yandex or Google, allow not only viewing images in the form of small previews, but also enlarging them, showing them in the form of a slideshow in full screen mode, and also reading small accompanying information to the picture. If it contains the words "wallpaper", "download", "free", you can safely open the image in full size and save it to your computer.
Step 3
To do this, in the image window that opens, right-click on any part of the image and select "Save Image As …" in the context menu. If the computer asks which folder to save the file to, select the required folder - it is usually customary to store desktop themes in the system folders Windows or Windows / Web / Wallpaper. You can also set any other folder you like. If the system does not issue such a request, then you will have to remember which download folder is set in the default settings of your browser.
Step 4
When you save the wallpaper file to the system folder, the downloaded picture will immediately appear in the display properties menu on the "Desktop" tab. If you saved the picture to another folder, you will have to find it through the "Browse" on the same tab. Select the required file, click the "Open" button, then successively - "Apply" and OK. The picture will appear on your desktop. You can also do it much easier: find the desired picture in the folder through "Explorer" or "My Computer", right-click on it and select "Set as desktop background" in the context menu. However, with this method you will not be able to center, stretch the image or tile the desktop with it, so the picture may be displayed with distortion.
Step 5
In a slightly different way, you can find themes for your desktop by typing the phrase "pictures / wallpaper / postcards / … free download" in the search bar. The only advantage of this method is that the search engine will filter only those sites on which you can download free full-size wallpapers without any copyright icons, which do not require the signing of license agreements. However, to view the pictures, you will have to open all sites separately and search for wallpapers on them. All other actions are similar to the previous method.
