Router connection

Place the router in a room near the computer so that the cable of your Internet connection reaches the device and is firmly fixed in the leftmost WAN port. You should also connect the router to the computer from which the wired connection will be configured, if there is no Wi-Fi module or network card for wireless access. Connection can be made using a patch cord, which is also supplied in one kit together with the DIR-320.

Connect the router to the power supply using the adapter that came with the device. Click on the power button, which is also located on the left side of the device. If the cable is connected correctly, multiple indicators on the front panel will light up.

Also, if you will be setting up the connection using a computer without a Wi-Fi module, configure the connection parameters in the system. To do this, go to the "Start" - "Control Panel" of your computer, where select the section "Network and Internet" - "Network and Sharing Center" - "Change adapter settings". Right-click on the active Local Area Connection shortcut and then select Properties. Click the left mouse button on the item "Internet Protocol version 4", then click "Properties" again. In the window that appears, select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS servers automatically", then click "OK" and close all other windows.

If you want to configure the router wirelessly, after turning on the router to the network, in the list of available wireless connections on your computer from which you are setting up, select the name D-Link DIR-320 and connect

Network configuration

Open your program that you use to browse the Internet and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. Then enter admin in the Username field. Also specify the same admin combination as the password. When prompted to change the access settings, specify your new arbitrary password, which will later be used to access the control panel.

Go to the "Network" - "Connections" menu. Click on the WAN line in the table below. In the list of the opened parameters select "Connection type" - IPoE. Leave a checkmark next to the line "Allow". In the "IP Settings" section, uncheck the "Obtain an IP address automatically" checkbox and enter the IP address, netmask and gateway provided by your ISP. Also uncheck the "Obtain DNS server address automatically" checkbox and enter the DNS parameters provided by your ISP.

After setting these parameters, click "Save". Also, in the upper right corner opposite the line "Device configuration has been changed" click the "Save" button. After that, you can check if your internet connection is working. If the network works, do not forget to change the settings of the access point in the Wi-Fi section, specifying the encryption key (password for accessing Wi-Fi) and the new connection name.
