MOV files are used to store movies, various video materials. This format and video compression technology was developed by Apple. It is compatible with both Macintosh and Windows platforms.

Step 1
This format is played by many players, including: Apple Quick Time Player, Roxio Easy Media Creator, CyberLink PowerDirector, as well as the built-in player of the Windows operating system - Media Player, but it is not able to play all versions of the format.

Run the distribution file by double clicking on QuickTimeInstaller. Click the "Next" button, confirm your agreement with the license agreement, then in the "Installation folder" window select the folder to install the program and create a shortcut on the desktop. Then click the "Install" button.

The player will be installed within 2-3 minutes. Click on the "Finish" button. Run the program by double-clicking on the shortcut on your desktop.
Step 5
Two windows of the program will open - Apple Quick Time and New. The first one will offer links to various media files. The "New" window is the player's playback panel.
Step 6
In the top menu, click on the first item "File", then "Open file". In the dialog box, select the.mov file and click the "Open" button. The video file playback window will open.
Step 7
If the player cannot play any format, it will offer to download the required codec from the official site. Click on the "Continue" button. The default browser will open a page with different codecs. Click on the desired codec icon.
Step 8
On the page that opens, find the Download button. Download the distribution kit of codecs. Close Quick Time. Install the codec program as described above. Start the player again and play the video file.
