If your computer is running slower than you would like, perhaps one of the reasons for the congestion of the system is the excessive number of applications at startup. Because of them, the system may not start correctly and take too long to start, which negatively affects performance. Learn how to remove unnecessary applications from startup and leave only what you really need there.
Instructions
Step 1
Open "Start" and click "Run". A line will open in which you need to enter the msconfig command.
Step 2
Press enter and open the system settings window. Among other tabs, select the "Startup" tab - you need it to edit the list of programs.
Step 3
Pay attention to the columns "Startup item" and "Command". Look through the list of startup programs - if you find there suspicious applications that do not have any adequate information in the "Command" column, uncheck them - perhaps these are malicious applications or viruses that slow down the system.
Step 4
Also look at the list for programs you are familiar with that just shouldn't be at startup. When you need them, you will open them yourself. For all programs that are not needed, also uncheck the boxes.
Step 5
Leave at startup only those applications that are needed for the stable operation of the system - antiviruses, security utilities, Internet access programs, system applications. Also, in startup, you can leave programs that you constantly use - for example, dictionaries or translators, layout switches, and the like.
Step 6
For the changes to take effect, you need to restart your computer, which will warn you about the setup menu when you try to exit after installing all the changes in the startup section.
