The Internet has provided us with many opportunities, including fast data transmission over long distances. But it is not always possible to transfer the entire file. And not all file-sharing resources allow you to place files of any format. In order to avoid difficulties with data transmission on the Internet, files are split into archives.

  • WinRar
  • Total commander

Instructions

Step 1

Of course, splitting the file itself, and then archiving each part separately, is a long and thankless task. Fortunately, there are programs that can automatically split files into archives.

Step 2

Download and install the popular WinRar archiver. Restart the computer so that the system will enter the information about the installed program into the registry. Select the file you want to split into archives. Right-click on the file and select "Add to archive". In the menu that opens, find the item "General" or "General" at the top. In the lower left corner you will see the line "Divide into volumes by size". Specify the desired size for each volume and click "OK".

Step 3

Download and install Total Commander. Open it and find the required file. In the upper left corner of the program, find and open the "Files" menu. Click on the "Split file" item. You will see a menu in which you need to specify the size of the parts after dividing the file and the path to save the final parts. After that, open the directory containing the split file and zip them.
