In a few years, most likely, almost every inhabitant of the Internet will start a blog. At one time there was a "boom" to e-mail, then to icq numbers. Today a blog for many is something more than just a page on the Internet. Blogging on the WordPress platform allows you to discover many possibilities that are not found in other platforms. For a blog, you need to choose a template (design theme) that can be selected on the thematic sites of this platform, but some free templates are fraught with deception - an active link to the address of the portal.

Instructions
Step 1
It is good practice to post an active link to the author of the template, but some portals insert their link, thus the portal owners get a lot of backlinks to their site. If this site distributes free templates with its own links, this indicates the dishonesty of the administrator of this project.
Step 2
To view links in such templates, there is a special plugin: it displays not only links to the author of the template, but also links that were provided by someone, perhaps the administrator of the site from which you downloaded this template. Go to the administrative panel of your site by clicking the link "Console" at the top of the window.

In the opened "admin panel" (site control panel), click on the TAC link in the left part of the window (section "Appearance"). The right side of the window will display all the templates that you have uploaded to your blog. There is a Detalis button next to each topic, click it to view the location of the xrefs. If next to the theme there is an inscription Theme OK, therefore, the links are present only to the author of this work, otherwise you need to look for extraneous links.

In the list of links that opens, remember which file contains unnecessary links. Click the "Editor" link in the left part of the window (section "Appearance"). On the right side, find the file indicated by the TAC plugin. Most likely, this will be the footer.php file. If you see only one line of approximately the following content - gRhYEpkhYTfENl4GrfdY87, then the line is encoded.
Step 5
To expand the code, enter several characters "*" (asterisk) before and after the encoded string. Click the "Update File" button and open your site in a new tab. Right-click on any free area of your site and select "Page Source".
Step 6
The html code of the entire page will appear in a new window. Press the key combination Ctrl + F (search) and enter as many asterisks as indicated in the footer.php file. Browse the page content between the asterisks and copy it to the above file, replacing the encoded string.
Step 7
Now you can completely remove all external links that lead to the portal site that this template provided you with. Do not be afraid to remove these links, because you have downloaded a completely free theme, for which you can only thank the author.
