Instructions

Step 1

It is necessary to disassemble the keyboard in various cases. For example, it got clogged, and some keys began to stick unpleasantly. Or you've flooded the keyboard with something sticky and need to clean the contacts. So, first of all, you need to turn off the laptop and remove its battery. Each button on a laptop is attached with special mechanisms called microlifts. Buttons of different functionality have different mounts, so when removing the plastic part it is better to put it aside together with the mount.

Step 2

Start disassembling your laptop keyboard from the letter keys. First, you snap off the plastic button and you see two mounts in front of you. You can use a dental probe and tweezers to remove them. The fasteners must be snapped off from above, where the microlift is fixed vertically. The side mounts are more fragile, so you could damage the side ears when removing. In no case try to remove all microlifts at the same time, it is better to spend more time, but do everything efficiently.

Step 3

Once you are done with the letter keys, you can move on to buttons with a different type of attachment. The PgUp and PgDn buttons, cursors, and the Y button are held by white and black mounts. Removing the plastic key reveals a white mount. You need to remove the ears from the hooks, which are located at the top and bottom left. The spacebar and Shift buttons are removed in the same way, except that the spacebar has two microlifts instead of one. Then you can proceed to the buttons of the last group. These are the alt, fn, ctrl and win buttons. You remove the ears from the hooks, which are located on the right above and below.

Step 4

Once all the keyboard buttons are on the table, you will need to remove the black stencil, where each button has a triangle rubber band. A film base is located under it. It is on this three-layer base that the contact pads are located, which are closed when liquid hits them. You need to act very carefully at this stage, since the layers of the film base are very fragile and easily torn. If you have no experience with such delicate mechanisms, then we recommend that you send your laptop to a specialized service for repair.
