Over time, the fans located on the video card deteriorate. You can periodically clean and lubricate these devices, but to ensure their high-quality operation, it is recommended to change the coolers.
Necessary
- - crosshead screwdriver;
- - glue;
- - Speccy.
Instructions
Step 1
Before buying a new fan, check your graphics card model. Read the instructions for the system unit. If it is not available, then install Speccy or Everest.
Step 2
Launch the selected application. Go to the "Graphics" menu and write down the model of your video adapter. Please also note that you may not find an original spare part for your video adapter.
Step 3
Turn off the computer and remove the left cover from the unit. Remove your video adapter by unscrewing the mounting screw. Remove the cooler from it by first disconnecting the power cord.
Step 4
Take this cooler and video card with you to the store. Find the right fan for your video adapter. Install it in the special slot and secure the fan. Connect the power cable to the video card.
Step 5
In the event that you have purchased a fan, the power for which is connected to the motherboard, make this connection.
Step 6
Sometimes situations arise in which it is impossible to choose the right cooler for a given video card model. In this case, you can use any other computer fan. Get a cooler of the correct size.
Step 7
Most often, fans are attached to a graphics card cooling heatsink or mounted in a special slot inside it. Take a tube of any glue that does not lose its properties in a high-temperature environment (up to 65 degrees).
Step 8
Apply a small amount of glue to the fan housing. Naturally, no glue should be applied to the cooler blades. Avoid getting glue inside the device.
Step 9
Glue the fan to the graphics card heatsink. Connect the cooler power to this device or to the motherboard.
