Instructions

Step 1

For the replacement procedure, you will need the meter itself, a Phillips screwdriver, a flat screwdriver, pliers. It must be remembered that the instrument must be insulated.

Before replacing the meter, find out: how many phases comes to the meter. There can be three or one of them. When you have decided on the number of phases, you need to purchase a similar meter.

Step 2

You can proceed directly to the replacement. Under the new conditions, there should be an introductory machine in front of the meter. This machine connects the outdoor power line and household electrical wiring. It needs to be disabled. The counter will then stop. To be sure, you can turn on any lamp near the workplace. It shouldn't burn.

Step 3

Remove the meter cover by unscrewing two small bolts. A terminal block will be visible under the meter cover, which includes several wires. These wires are unscrewed with an ordinary screwdriver - either a Phillips or a flat screwdriver. Pliers are used to pull out the wires from their sockets in the terminal block of the meter. You just need to do it carefully so as not to confuse the wires in places. It is best to stick a piece of paper with the number of the sequence of the wire on each posting.

Step 4

After the wires, the meter is dismantled. It is fastened in two ways: either on a din-rail, or with three screws on a special bus. If a din-rail was used to fix the meter, then with a flat screwdriver we take out the two clamps located at the bottom of the device, remove it from the din-rail and put another counter. If the device is on a special bus, then first unscrew the upper screw, and then the two extreme ones and change the old and new counters in places.

Step 5

Further, with pliers, the wires are carefully inserted into their places in the terminal block and tightened with screws. Usually, there are two screws in each socket in the terminal block. When tightening the wire, first pull the outer screw, and then pull the inner screw. Then the correctness of the wiring is checked and the terminal block is closed with the meter cover.
