If it is impossible to transfer information using local or global network connections, this problem is solved using removable media. Among them, optical discs - CDs and DVDs - are widespread. In contrast to the operation of writing to such a disc, the procedure for copying its contents to a computer is much simpler, although it also has some peculiarities that need to be taken into account.
Instructions
Step 1
If you did not use special copy protection systems when writing information to the disk, it will not be difficult to create a copy on the internal media of your computer - use any file manager for this purpose. In most modern operating systems, after loading the disc into the reader, the screen automatically prompts you to select one of the options for further actions with it. Among other operations, this list also contains the option to open the disk file directory - select it.
Step 2
Select all objects on the disk in the file manager window that opens by pressing the Ctrl + A key combination. If you do not need to copy all the information, left-click only the files and folders you need while holding down the Ctrl key.
Step 3
Move the selected objects to the desired location on your computer's hard drive. This can be done by simply dragging them with the mouse, but this method is not always convenient. You can do it differently - use a combination of copy and paste operations. To copy, press the key combination Ctrl + C, and then open the folder in the file manager window where you want to paste the files to be moved and press the key combination Ctrl and V.
Step 4
If the information on the original disc has the standard copy protection commonly found on CDs and DVDs with movies, music albums, and computer games, use Slysoft CloneDVD, Slysoft CloneCD, DVD Decrypter, UltraISO, and the like to copy. For example, to transfer information using the UltraISO application, open the "File" section in the main menu and select the "Open CD / DVD" item. After a few seconds, the application window will display the same folder tree of the optical disk as in the usual Explorer. Objects from it can be dragged into a folder open in the file manager on the computer's hard drive, or you can right-click any file or directory and call up a save dialog using the "Extract to" command in the context menu.
