In the graphics editor Adobe Photoshop there are tools with which you can determine the color at any arbitrary point in the loaded image. The measurement result can be obtained both numerically and as a reference color for any drawing tool. The reverse operation is also provided - knowing the numerical expression of a color shade, you can set it as the current working color.

Instructions

Step 1

If you need to define a color at some point in an existing image, start by loading it into the editor. To do this, there is a dialog called by the Ctrl + O key combination - with its help you need to find an image file on your computer, select it and click the "Open" button.

Step 2

If you need to determine the color at some point on the monitor screen, load a copy of the image from the screen into Photoshop. It is very easy to do this - press Print Screen on the keyboard, switch to the graphical editor window, press Ctrl + N, then Enter and Ctrl + V.

Step 3

After the image is opened in Photoshop in one way or another, turn on the Eyedropper tool - press the key with the English letter I. You can do this by clicking on the corresponding icon on the toolbar of the graphics editor.

Step 4

Move the mouse pointer over the desired point of the picture. If you need to determine the color of some small element, enlarge the image - press the Ctrl and Plus keys as many times as needed. When you need to return to normal size, use the combination Ctrl + alt="Image" + 0.

Step 5

Press the left mouse button - the graphics editor will determine the shade at the cursor point and set it as a working color. If you need to get the result in numerical representation, open the color picker - click on the icon of two intersecting squares at the bottom of the toolbar. In the window that opens, select one of the numerical representations. The constituent elements of the color decomposition in RGB and CMYK encodings are marked here with the corresponding letters, and the hexadecimal code is placed in the field at the hash # at the bottom of the window.

Step 6

If you need to perform the opposite operation, i.e. set the working color to a known numerical representation, use the same palette. Components of RGB and CMYK encodings will have to be typed manually, and the hexadecimal code can be copied in the source and pasted into the corresponding field of the palette. The color will be set when you click the OK button.
