It is possible to remake the case of the system unit from vertical to horizontal only in a few cases, since most of them do not have the necessary parameters for the necessary changes.
Necessary
- - knife for cutting on metal surfaces;
- - new back wall for the computer;
- - mounts for the power supply;
- - screwdriver;
- - electric screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that the width of the enclosure is adequate for the new arrangement of the devices in it. Buy a new back wall of the system unit. Note that you still have to consider the location of the motherboard - this is one of the most difficult parts of this job. Everything depends on the availability of space, so make approximate markings on the new back cover. Also consider the location of the power supply relative to the motherboard.
Step 2
Remove all devices from your computer, having previously disconnected it from the power source. Place them as if they were with a horizontal case, while taking into account that the case should initially be wide, that is, with the usual arrangement of the components, there should still be free space in it. Measure the connectors accurately and draw them with a marker on the inside of the back of the case according to the new location.
Step 3
Cut through the connectors in the wall using any convenient tools. Replace the old one. Install the power supply mounts in the housing. Use an electric screwdriver to cut the holes for the mountings. Install the motherboard and power supply. Secure their positions. Connect all necessary devices to the motherboard.
Step 4
Secure the cooler positions. Connect the power wires to the devices and arrange them so that they do not touch the motherboard, graphics card, or other components. Without closing the lid of the system unit. Connect it to a power source. Press the power button and check the operation of the coolers.
Step 5
Pay attention to the location of the wires when the computer is running. If necessary, make the necessary changes and check everything again. Place the cover on the computer and secure it in position with the bolts.
