Laptops are often equipped with a small amount of RAM, increasing which can significantly improve performance. Mobile devices have their own memory slots. Therefore, before purchasing a "RAM", you should clarify the format of the slot used.
Necessary
purchased RAM bar for a laptop
Instructions
Step 1
Before buying a new bracket and disassembling a laptop, you should first find out the type of memory used. To accurately determine it, you should use a diagnostic program, for example, Sandra.
Step 2
Start the program and click on the “System summary” icon. The application will display many parameters, among which the most important is the "Memory Bus Speed" attribute, on the basis of which you can determine the type of RAM.
Step 3
Modern laptops use DDR2100 memory, which runs at up to 266 MHz, while DDR2700 runs at 333 MHz. DDR2 memory modules are rated at 400 MHz. If your laptop has a Core Solo, Core2Duo, or AMD Turion XII processor, then DDR2700 memory will most likely work. Micro-SODIMM format is often used on netbooks. Determine the type of memory you need and purchase a bracket at any of the hardware stores.
Step 4
RAM is most often found under the lid on the back of a laptop. Using an ordinary screwdriver, unscrew the screw that holds the shutter. Open the cover. Open the side fasteners of the connector, lift the memory bar itself and pull it towards you. Typically, laptops have two modules, which are usually located on top of each other. Pull out both strips, replace them with the purchased ones. Do not forget to slide back the fasteners and close the cover. Installation completed.
