The operation, which is more often called "screen rotation", is more correctly called "desktop rotation". This option is provided by all manufacturers of graphic operating systems, starting with Microsoft. In different generations of Windows, there are also some differences in its implementation from the point of view of the user.

Instructions

Step 1

To rotate the desktop in Windows 7 or Vista, right-click on its background image and select the "Screen Resolution" line from the drop-down menu. This will launch the settings window, where you need a selector titled "Orientation". When you click, a list of options for actions with the screen will drop out, in which you should select the desired direction of rotation of the display, and with it the desktop. Once done, click the "OK" button.

Step 2

There is also an alternative, slightly faster way. It consists in the fact that after right-clicking the background picture of the desktop, you need to select another item - "Graphics Options". Among the items in this section of the menu there is a drop-down subsection called "Rotation". When you hover the cursor over it, a list of the same options for rotating the worker will drop out. Choose the option you want.

Step 3

If you need to deploy the desktop in Windows XP, you should refer to the properties of the video cards. Depending on the model installed in your computer, the desired function will be accessed differently. For example, for video cards of the ATI Radeon family with default settings, it is enough to press the key combination alt="Image" + CTRL + left or right arrow. And for NVIDIA, you need to right-click on the desktop background image and select the line "NVIDIA Control Panel" from the menu. On the left side of this panel is a link with the text "Display Rotation" - click it and you will see four options for screen rotation. Place the checkmark in front of the desired direction and close the NVIDIA panel.

Step 4

Here, too, there is an alternative way - in the desktop tray, right-click the icon of your video card. As a result, you will see a context menu in which there will be a section for changing the orientation of the desktop. NVIDIA calls this menu item Rotation Options. If you hover the cursor over it, a list will drop out in which you should select the desired direction of rotation.
