At the current level of development of computerization in our country, one home computer is most often used by several people. Windows OS allows you to create several separate profiles for such cases, which ensures the privacy of each user and customization of the system in accordance with his personal preferences. It is not difficult to add a new user account to the list of those registered in your OS.
Instructions
Step 1
Log in to the system with administrator rights - their presence is a prerequisite, without which operations for managing user accounts are impossible.
Step 2
Open the OS component with user account control options. This can be done through the control panel - open the main menu and select the appropriate item in it. In the panel, go to the "User Accounts and Family Safety" section and click the "User Accounts" link. Depending on the OS version used, a link to accounts may be placed not in a subsection, but in the main window of the control panel.
Step 3
In Windows 7, instead of the control panel, you can use the search mechanism: open the main menu and enter "accounting" in the field with the text "Find programs and files". The system will display a list of search results with the "User Accounts" link in the first line - click it.
Step 4
Click the "Manage a different account" sign if you are using Windows 7 or Vista (Windows XP does not have this sign). Then in each of these OS versions you need to follow the link "Create an account".
Step 5
Enter the account name of the new user in the only text box that opens. In Windows 7 and Vista, in the same window, you must specify whether the created user should be given administrator rights - check the box next to the words "Normal access" or "Administrator". In Windows XP, this choice has been moved to the next window that opens after clicking Next - here this alternative is phrased as Computer Administrator and Restricted Recording.
Step 6
Click on the "Create account" button and the component will add a new user to the list.
Step 7
If the created user needs to assign an access password, then this will have to be done by a second call to the "User Accounts" component. This time, in Windows XP, click on the "Change account" link, and in Windows 7 and Vista, click on "Manage another account".
Step 8
Click the icon of the created user and select "Change password" in the task list. In the next window, enter the password twice, as well as the text of the hint phrase that will help you remember it. Then click the "Create Password" button and the password will be required to log in to this user.
