Find the program you need. Buy it from a store or download it online. Make sure that the characteristics of your computer meet the minimum requirements of the program for the amount of memory, processor power, free space on the hard drive and the operating system you have installed. For example, a modern graphics editor (like Adobe products) simply won't fit on a low-power computer with little memory. And if it does, it will be very problematic to work in it.

Make sure that the program meets your needs, is really useful for you and you will use it. Installing too many unnecessary programs loads the system and reduces its performance, brings the next OS reinstallation closer. Better to have few utilities, but they will be actively used. If you have the opportunity to put two programs with approximately the same functions, choose the one that takes up less space and requires fewer resources.

The process of installing programs is approximately the same, whether you install them from a hard drive or from a CD / DVD. To start installation, double-click on the installer file icon. If there are several files in the program folder, then usually the installation file is the one with the word "setup" or "install" in its name. Then you just need to answer the questions and click the "Next" button. In the process, you will need to specify the installation path (usually drive C, Program Files folder).

Some programs start by asking the user whether to install all components and settings by default or give him control over the process. Proceed at your own discretion.
