The parameters that can be used to measure the text are the number of characters that make it up, the number of words it contains, as well as the number of lines, paragraphs and pages. To measure all these parameters, it is most logical to use the built-in functions of the text editor in which the text is created and edited. The Microsoft Office Word word processor provides this capability.

Instructions
Step 1
Once you've started your word processor, load a document containing the text you're interested in. This can be done by copying the required text somewhere and pasting it into a blank Word document, or by opening the file through a dialog box launched by pressing the Ctrl + O keyboard shortcut. You can see one of the text measurement parameters immediately after loading - on the left side of the status bar (this is the bottom bar of the document window) the number of words in the text will be placed.
Step 2
Go to the tab with the name "Review" and in the group of commands "Spelling" click on the last icon in the list. When you hover the mouse cursor over it, the explanatory text "Statistics.." will pop up. As a result, a small window will open, which will contain detailed information about the text - the number of pages, words, characters (both with and without spaces), paragraphs and lines. Here you can also uncheck the box "Consider labels and footnotes" if the text contains these elements, and you need statistics without taking them into account.
Step 3
Left-click on the status bar label containing word count information to display exactly the same statistics window that was described in the previous step - this is a faster way to access it.
Step 4
Highlight any sentence, paragraph or any other fragment if you need to measure not the entire text, but only a certain part of it. After that, in the status bar, another number will be added to the total number of words in the entire text through a fraction, indicating the same indicator for the fragment you selected. By opening the statistics window in one of the methods described in the previous steps, you can find out more detailed information about the part of the text you have selected.
