As the computer is running, the hard disk becomes very fragmented, which slows down the system's performance. It is necessary to defragment the hard drive, for this open: "Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter". In the window that opens, select the required disk, click the "Analysis" button. If the disk needs defragmentation, click the button with the corresponding inscription.

One of the reasons for the slowdown in startup and shutdown times is a large number of programs that are launched in automatic mode. When installing software, many programs add themselves to startup, so you need to clean your startup folder regularly. The most convenient way to do this is to use the Aida64 program (aka Everest). Run the program, in the window that opens, select "Programs - Startup". Remove the birds from those programs that you do not need.

You can also clean the startup folder using the built-in Windows utilities. Open: "Start - Run", enter the command msconfig and click "OK". In the window that opens, select the startup tab, remove the checkboxes from unnecessary programs and save the changes.

Old and erroneous entries in the system registry significantly slow down Windows. When installing and uninstalling programs, some of the entries in the registry remain, it grows in size, which negatively affects the speed of loading and shutting down the computer. You should regularly clean the registry using the appropriate utilities, fix its errors. CCleaner is a very handy program. With its help, you can not only clean the system registry, but also monitor the startup folder.
Step 5
The speed of the computer is also affected by the number of running services. Many of the services involved are not only unnecessary for an ordinary user, but even dangerous - for example, the remote registry management service. Search the Internet for a list of those services that you can disable. To disable, open: "Start - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services". Double-click the service to be disabled, in the window that opens, click the "Stop" button. Then select the Disabled option from the startup method menu.
