You bought a new computer without a preinstalled operating system or assembled it yourself using separate components. The next step in setting it up should be to install the operating system on the system disk.
Instructions
Step 1
Before installing the operating system on the hard drive, prepare it for use. Format it using hard disk partition managers. There are a lot of programs that can be used for this. For example, Paragon Partition Manager, Norton PartitionMagic, Acronis Disk Director, Partition Commander, a small utility for DOS fdisk, and so on. However, in order to use these programs, you must unsubscribe them to the CD-Rom in advance, making it bootable.
Step 2
Set the correct boot order of the computer devices in the BIOS and insert the disk with the partition manager into the CD-Rom and boot from it. Divide the installed disks into multiple partitions if necessary. For example, the main hard drive is often divided into several partitions. The first of which (marked with the letter C) is subsequently made the system partition, and the second and all subsequent ones are logical partitions for storing files. The disk partition that will later become the system partition must be primary and active. If he does not have these signs, assign them to special teams of program managers. After completing all the above operations, restart your computer.
Step 3
Insert the operating system installation disc into the drive. Following all the settings and answering the corresponding questions of the installer, you will see a window with the choice of the installation location of the operating system. Among all the specified partitions on which you can install the system, select the one that you assigned as system and active. Thus, by specifying a partition, you will make it the system drive.
