Step 1
Start with the first option. First, clean the hard drive and adjust its settings. Open the "My Computer" menu and right-click on the system partition of the hard drive. Select Properties. In the menu that opens, click the "Disk Cleanup" button. Wait until the files are prepared for deletion. Click the "OK" button to confirm disk cleanup.
Step 2
Now go back to the properties of the system partition and uncheck the "Allow indexing the contents of files on this disk" option. Click the "OK" button and wait until the new parameters are applied to the files in this section. Now open the "Tools" tab. Click the Run Defragment button.
Step 3
Now select the required partition and click the "Disk Defragmenter" button. This process can take a long time, so it is best to run it overnight. Now download and install the Advanced System Care program. This will allow you to perform all other optimization steps using just one utility.
Step 4
Start this program and open the Windows Cleanup menu. Select the four items of this menu with checkmarks and press the "Scan" button. Wait while the utility detects errors in the system. Now click the "Repair" button and wait for the completion of the running procedure.
Step 5
Open the System Diagnostics menu. Check the boxes next to all the items on this menu, excluding the "Defragmentation" option, because you have already done this process. Repeat the algorithm for starting the scanning and repair processes. Close the Advanced System Care utility when it is finished.
Step 6
If, after all the procedures performed, you are still not satisfied with the performance of your computer, then purchase and install an additional RAM module. This is the simplest and most effective way to speed up your computer.
