Step 1
This virus, which creates a red banner on the desktop, is named “Trojan. Winlock”. This malware requires you to send a paid SMS message in order to unlock the operating system. The most important rule is not to send SMS, as this will not bring the desired result.
Step 2
Check what functions are currently available on your personal computer. Use the hot keys Ctrl + Alt + Delete to invoke the Task Manager. Click on the "File" drop-down list and click on the "New task (Run …)" button. In the dialog box that appears, enter the command “cmd.exe”. The operating system command prompt will open. Enter the following line:% systemroot% / system32 / restore / rstrui.exe and press the “Enter” key. This operation will launch the "System Restore" function.
Specify a rollback point and click Next. After the restore is complete, scan the entire system with an antivirus program.

You can also remove the red banner from the desktop using specialized, free software. Go to the official website of the anti-virus software manufacturer, for example, Doctor Web (https://www.freedrweb.com/livecd) or Kaspersky (https://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner). Download the utility and burn it to a blank disk. Insert it into the drive of the infected computer and start Windows. An automatic system scan and virus removal will start. Reboot your computer.
