The first thing to think about when you hear the word "security" is a firewall. Indeed, he plays a crucial role in this. But sometimes for some purposes, such as transferring and receiving files over the network, it becomes necessary to disable its settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the "Start" menu by clicking on it with the left mouse button or the "Windows" key on the keyboard, select "Control Panel" from the list of locations. The "Control Panel" window will open in front of you.
Step 2
In the window that opens, if the tools are arranged by category, select the Security Center category, then the Security Center window will open, at the bottom of which, in the Security settings section, select Windows Firewall. If the tools are displayed in Classic View, then Windows Firewall will be located right in this list. Call the window of its parameters by double-clicking it with the left mouse button.
Step 3
In the "Windows Firewall" window that opens, on the "General" tab, you will see two main options - "Enable" and "Disable" the firewall, which provides primary protection against unauthorized access to your computer via the local network or the Internet. Select Disable to disable the security settings of the firewall.
Step 4
If you want to disable the firewall action for some specific programs, then leave the firewall enabled and make sure to uncheck the "Do not allow exceptions" option located in the context of the "Enable" setting. After that go to the "Exceptions" tab. Here you will see a list of programs and services for which you can disable the firewall action. To do this, check the boxes next to those programs and services for which you want the firewall not to be applied.
Step 5
If you want to disable the firewall for network connections, then go to the "Advanced" tab and uncheck the boxes in the list of connections. Keep in mind that even if the security settings are disabled, the firewall will continue to firewall connections with a checkmark.
