Modern Windows operating systems include built-in utilities that increase the security of these systems and the computer as a whole. Unfortunately, these functions can greatly interfere with users when setting up a network connection and launching some programs.
Instructions
Step 1
To disable the firewall in Windows Vista, open your computer's Control Panel. To do this, go to the "Start" menu and select the appropriate item. Open the "Administration" submenu and go to the "Services" item.
Step 2
Find the Security Center service and right-click on it. Select Properties. Find the Startup Type field and set it to Disabled. Click the Ok button to save the specified settings and close the dialog box.
Step 3
Disable the Windows Firewall service in the same way. This will greatly simplify the installation of some applications and setting up a local network or Internet access.
Step 4
Now turn off User Account Control. To do this, select the "System" menu in the control panel and open the "User accounts" submenu. Go to "Change User Account Control Settings". Move the slider to the "Never notify" item and click the Ok button.
Step 5
Now turn off unnecessary system notifications. Open Control Panel and go to the Security Center menu. Select "Change notification method". Select the Disable All Alerts option from the drop-down menu. Click the Ok button.
Step 6
If this method is not effective for some reason, use the command console. Open the Start menu and go to Run. In the new window, type cmd command and press Enter.
Step 7
Once the Shell starts, type REG DELETE "HKCR / CLSID {FD6905CE-952F-41F1-9A6F-135D9C6622CC}" and press Enter. Confirm the deletion of this registry branch by pressing the Y key. Close the console and restart the computer.
