Not every user thinks about backing up the system to save important data stored on the hard disk, remembering the problem only after the system crash. To prevent this problem from occurring, a system backup is performed.
Necessary
- - Personal Computer;
- - removable hard drive.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the Windows 7 Backup and Restore applet to copy system information. In the lower left of the desktop is the "Start" button: click on it and enter the word "archiving" in the search field, and then press Enter. The "Back up and restore files" window will open on the screen.
Step 2
Select the "Configure backup" section. The system prompts you to select the medium on which you want to save the backups. If the information will be stored on a removable storage device, connect it to your computer and click the refresh button. Select the backup destination.
Step 3
If the backup copy needs to be saved on a network share, click on the "Save on the network" button. Then press the Browse button and select a network drive or network folder. Enter your network credentials (username and password) if required.
Step 4
It is possible to let Windows independently determine important system and user data and back up the data. To do this, check the box "Provide Windows with choice" and click "Next". Check the parameters are correct, save them and start archiving data. Windows will create its own image, which, if necessary, will be used to restore the system.
Step 5
If you decide to specify the folders and files for archiving yourself, check the "Give me a choice" checkbox and click "Next". Then check the boxes next to the selected archiving items. Check the parameters again, save them and start archiving.
