Sooner or later, but every PC user has a desire to improve his performance. This can be due to a huge number of reasons. Sometimes it's just a desire to squeeze the maximum out of your car, sometimes it's really necessary measures. The easiest way to overclock your computer is to add various hardware to it. It is effective, but not always convenient; moreover, it requires financial costs. Fortunately, there are also free ways to increase productivity. Cleaning the system and adjusting its settings for optimal performance usually helps.
Instructions
Step 1
If financial possibilities permit, it is best to add RAM to the computer. To determine the required type, install a program, for example - Speccy. In it you will see all the parameters of your RAM. The main ones are: Type (DDR 1, 2 or 3) and frequency.
Step 2
If you wish, you can clean the system using standard Windows tools. We recommend using special programs for these purposes. The Advanced System Care program is a good option. Install it on your computer. Open the Windows Cleanup window. Check the boxes on all 4 items and click the "Scan" button. After the scan is complete, click "repair".
Step 3
Open the System Diagnostics window. Follow all the steps described in the second step. The "defragmentation" item is best used once a week, otherwise it will not have the desired effect.
Step 4
Disable file indexing. A very light action that helps to significantly speed up the speed of working with a hard drive. Open the properties of the system drive. At the bottom, find the item "Allow indexing the contents of files on this disk in addition to file properties" and uncheck it. Click "apply" and wait for the system to accept the specified parameters.
Step 5
Overclocking the processor. Go to BIOS, find the tab that shows the frequency of the processor. If possible, increase it a little. It is better not to do this unless absolutely necessary, because such a step can lead to unstable system operation and overheating. This is especially true for multi-core architectures.
