Avi, or Audio Video Interleave, is one of the famous containers for recording audio and video, first used in 1992. If the system has codecs that compress audio and video streams in this container, avi files can be played by almost any player installed on the computer. The avi video format can be converted to another format with the help of a converter program.

Instructions
Step 1
Install the software for converting video CanopusProCoder on your computer. On the Source tab, which opens by default when the program starts, click on the Add button and select a video for processing. You can load several files into the converter at the same time or one by one, they will be processed with the same settings.
Step 2
The CanopusProCoder program allows a little additional processing of files: during the conversion process, you can increase the sound volume, adjust the brightness, saturation and color balance of the video, rotate the frame and partially remove digital noise. To use these features, click on the Advanced button and go to the Video Filter tab. The sound can be customized by going to the Audio Filter tab. Click the Add button and select one or more filters from the list that opens.
Step 3
If you need to convert not the entire downloaded file to another format, but only a part of it, go to the Setup tab. Drag the slider under the player window to the desired position and click the In button to specify the beginning of the fragment to be converted. Enter a value in the Out field in the same way.
Step 4
Go to the settings of the conversion parameters by clicking on the Target tab, and select the format into which you are going to convert the video. On the right side of the window, you will see a list of ready-made presets for this format. By highlighting one, you can read its brief description at the bottom of the window.
Step 5
Settings saved as presets can be changed. To do this, select one of the appropriate presets and click on the OK button. In the main window of the Target tab, you can change the conversion parameters by choosing a different frame rate, frame size, codec and bit rate. Specify the folder where the video will be saved after conversion by clicking on the button to the right of the Path field.
Step 6
After all the settings are set, go to the Convert tab and click on the Convert button. You can get information about the time elapsed from the start of processing, the remaining time until the end of conversion and the approximate speed of video processing by looking in the status bar under the preview window.
