The item that contains the Start button is called the Taskbar. In the Windows operating system, you can customize this panel at your own discretion, including changing its color.

Step 1
The taskbar appearance is determined by the selected Windows theme. You can download your favorite theme from the Internet or choose a suitable design option from the collection available on your computer. There are several ways to install a theme.

Some custom themes (found by you on the Internet or created on your own) may have the.msstyles extension. To install such a theme, go to the directory where you saved the.msstyles file and left-click on it. The appearance of the taskbar and other items will change. If you encounter problems with opening the file, you should install and run the Universal Theme Patcher or UXTheme Multi-Patcher utility on your computer, and then repeat the operation.

The other part of the themes has the.theme extension. This format can contain both custom and standard themes from the Windows collection. They are changed using the "Screen" component. Right-click anywhere on the desktop. Select "Properties" from the context menu. A new dialog box will open.

Alternatively, select Control Panel from the Start menu, left-click on the Display icon in the Appearance and Themes category. If the Control Panel is displayed in Classic View, select the Display icon right away. In the window that opens, make the "Theme" tab active.

Set the new skin for Windows using the drop-down list in the "Theme" group and apply the settings. Along with the theme, the color of the taskbar with the Start button will also change. If the theme you want to install is not in the list, specify the path to it.

In the same Subject field, scroll all the way down and select Browse. In the window that opens, go to the directory where the theme is stored, select the required file in the.theme format with the left mouse button and click the "Open" button. After evaluating the view on the sketch, save the changes by clicking on the "Apply" button.
Step 7
There is another solution: go in the "Properties: Display" window to the "Appearance" tab. In the "Color Scheme" group, use the drop-down list to select the design that suits you. Apply the new settings and close the properties window.
