Instructions

Step 1

Turn on your computer and open the BIOS menu. To do this, press the Delete key during the start of the PC boot. Open the Advanced Setup menu and select Boot Device Priority. Find the First boot device field. Press the Enter key and select Internal DVD-Rom. Open the drive tray and insert the installer disc into it. Press the F10 key.

Step 2

The computer will restart and after a while the message Press any key to boot from CD appears on the screen. Press any key on the keyboard. Wait while the installer prepares the required files. In the next menu that opens, select your language. Please note that this selection applies only to the setup menu, not to the operating system itself.

Step 3

In the new window that opens, click the "Install" button and select the "Full installation" option. After a while, a new menu will appear showing the status of your hard drive. If you need to create an additional partition on which Windows Vista will be installed, then click the "Disk Setup" button.

Step 4

Select the local disk to be split into several parts and click the "Delete" button. Select the unallocated area that appears and click the Create button. Set the size of the future volume. It is recommended to use at least 25 GB, which is required to store the operating system and the minimum set of programs.

Step 5

Select the file system format of the new local disk and click the Apply button. Create a second section in the same way from the remaining volume of the unallocated area. Select the drive you want and click the "Continue" button.

Step 6

After a while, the computer will restart. Remove the disc from the drive to prevent the installer from starting from the beginning. Now you need to boot from your hard drive, so you don't need to press any keys. Configure your firewall settings, enter your primary computer username, and set a password (optional). After the second reboot, the program will perform the final stage of the Windows Vista installation.
