Various utilities can be used to create your own ISO image. The most popular programs in this area are Alcohol Soft and Daemon Tools. You can change the archive using some file managers.

Necessary

  • - Alcohol Soft;
  • - WinRar.

Instructions

Step 1

Download and install the Alcohol Soft program. Restart your computer to complete the installation of the application. Run the file Alcohol.exe. Open the DVD drive tray and insert the disc from which you will create the ISO image.

Step 2

Now open the "Image Creation" menu in the working window of the Alcohol program. Specify the DVD drive in which you installed the desired disc. Select the type of created image. It is better to specify the ISO + Joliet format to allow this disc to be used as a multiboot disc.

Step 3

Select the folder where the created ISO file will be saved and enter its name. Click the Create button. Wait for this process to complete. It can take quite a long time. It depends on the performance of your computer and the speed of your DVD drive.

Step 4

If you need to change the contents of the ISO archive, there are several ways to use it. The first one is quite difficult. Write the necessary files to the disk from which you created the image. Just include them in some folder. After that, create a new image. The downside is that this disc can be write-protected or simply finalized.

Step 5

If you are unable to add files to the disc, then follow this procedure with the finished ISO image. Install WinRar or 7-Zip software. It is better to use newer versions of the utilities to ensure maximum compatibility with images created with relatively new utilities. Alternatively, you can use the Total Commander program.

Step 6

Open the ISO image with the program of your choice. Right-click on it and select "Open with". Specify the required application. Now copy the necessary files from another Windows Explorer window and paste them into the working window of the open image. Just close the utility to save your changes.
