Programs that start when your OS starts can affect the download speed, and subsequently the speed of your computer. Therefore, it is important to know the processes that start when the system is turned on in order to be able to identify the cause of the slow computer operation. The management of such processes is carried out using the appropriate utilities.

Instructions

Step 1

Malicious and unnecessary programs clog up your startup folders, which slows down your OS. Startup data is located either on the main hard drive or in the corresponding registry keys.

Step 2

You can use the CCleaner utility to clean up registry settings and remove unnecessary programs. Download the application from the developer's official website and install it following the instructions of the installer. Run the program using the created shortcut on the desktop and go to the "Service" -> "Startup" tab.

Step 3

The screen will display a complete list of programs that start when the computer boots. Right-click on the programs that you want to remove, and click on the "Disable" item (in this case, the corresponding registry entry is not deleted, but only assigned the value False) or "Delete" (in this case, the registry entry is deleted, and you will not be able to enable autoload for the selected program if necessary).

Step 4

You can manage startup using standard system tools, but only for a specific user. Go to Start Menu -> All Programs -> Startup. In the window that appears, remove the programs that start when Windows starts, or add your own applications that you want to start when you turn on the system. To manage startup for all users, go to the C: / ProgramData / Microsoft / Windows / Start Menu / Programs / Startup directory.

Step 5

The boot list can be controlled using the msconfig utility, which is included in the standard Windows assembly. Go to the Start menu and type msconfig in the search bar. Select the found program and go to the "Startup" tab. Uncheck the boxes for those programs that you would like to exclude from the download process. Apply the changes and restart your computer.
