There are many ways to add new hard drives and partitions. The choice of the algorithm option depends on your capabilities and the desired end results.

- - Partition Manager;
- - Windows Seven or Vista disc.
Instructions
Step 1
If you just need to add a hard disk partition without installing or reinstalling the operating system, then use the Paragon Partition Manager program. Download the version of this utility that suits your operating system.
Step 2
Run the program. Select Power User Mode. Open the "Wizards" tab located on the main toolbar. Select "Create Section". Click the Next button in the new window.
Step 3
Specify an existing hard disk partition or unallocated area from which the new disk will be created. Click "Next". Set the file system format for the future local disk. Please indicate its size.
Step 4
Activate the "Create as logical drive" function. Click "Next". Specify the volume label and letter assigned to the new drive. Click "Next". Now click the "Finish" button to accept the changed settings.
Step 5
To start the process of creating a new disk, click the "Apply pending changes" button. Wait for the new disk creation process to complete.
Step 6
If you are unable to install additional programs, then add a new disk during the installation of the Windows Seven or Vista operating system. Insert the bootable disc into the drive and turn on the computer. Begin the process of installing a new operating system.
Step 7
When the display shows a menu containing a list of connected drives and their partitions, click the "Drive Setup" button. If you need to add a new disk from an unallocated area, select it and click the "Add" button. Set the size and type of the file system of the future disk.
Step 8
If you need to split an existing disk into two parts, select it and click the "Delete" button. Now follow the procedure for creating a new partition twice. Stop the system installation process by turning off your computer.
