The disadvantages of DVD include the inability to read information even with minor physical damage to the surface. Therefore, most users prefer to rip the DVD to a computer after purchasing it to create a backup copy of the data it contains.

Instructions
Step 1
Insert the DVD into your drive. Press the drive tray control button. Wait for the tray to extend. Place a DVD on the tray. Push the tray back in by sliding it slightly towards the inside of the product, or by pressing the control button again.
Step 2
Start the Nero Burning ROM program. After starting, the dialog for creating a new project will be automatically opened. Close it by clicking the "Cancel" button.
Step 3
Open the window for copying tracks from optical media. Press the F9 button or select the "Advanced" and "Save Tracks" items in the main application menu.
Step 4
Specify the device that contains the DVD that you want to transfer to your computer. In the list of devices of the Select Disk dialog, select the line corresponding to the drive where the disk was placed. Click OK.
Step 5
Configure the settings for saving data from disk. From the list labeled "Track List", select the track to be saved to your hard drive. Most DVDs with movies and software distributions usually have only one track. Select the file format for the DVD image you want to create. In the drop-down list “Output format. files ", set the current item" ISO image file (*.iso) ". Define a filename and directory to save it. Click on the "Browse" button located to the right of the "Path" drop-down list. Change to the desired directory. Enter a name for the file. Click the "Save" button. Click the "Options" button. An area with additional controls will be displayed at the bottom of the dialog. In the "Reading Speed" drop-down list in this area, select the "Maximum" item.
Step 6
Rip the DVD to your computer. Click the Go button in the Save Tracks window. Wait until the end of the process of copying information. The process can take a long time. The copy time depends on the maximum read speed of the drive and the amount of data on the disc. Information regarding the progress of the copying process will be displayed in the "Progress" dialog.
