Who, at least once in their life, has not wanted to put some original greeting when loading the operating system or supplement a home video with replicas of the heroes of a popular cartoon? To do this, you just need to use a sound editor and cut the necessary fragments from the original audio file.

Necessary

  • Audio editor Adobe Audition
  • audio file

Instructions

Step 1

Open the audio file in Adobe Audition editor. To do this, use the Open command from the File menu. You can do the same with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O.

If you need to split the audio track of a video file, use the Open Audio from Video command. The command is located in the same File menu.

From the Workspace menu, select Edit view default. This drop-down menu is in the upper right side of the program window.

Step 2

Press the Spacebar or the Play from Cursor to the End of File button to play the open file. The button is located in the lower left part of the program window. Determine which sections of the file you need. Place a marker at the beginning and at the end of each segment that you are going to save as a separate file. To do this, place the cursor at the beginning of the file segment, left-click and press the F8 key.

Step 3

Position the cursor over the marker that marks the beginning of the first section of the file. You can use the Go to Beginning or Previous Marker or Go to the End or Previous Marker buttons to switch between markers. The buttons are located in the lower left part of the editor window. While holding down the left mouse button, select the entire fragment up to the next marker.

Step 4

Cut out the selection using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + X. Paste the cut fragment into a new file using the Paste to New command from the Edit menu. You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + N.

Step 5

Save the cutout as a separate file using the Save command on the File menu. Close the window with the saved fragment. To do this, in the Files palette, select the name of the saved fragment and right-click on it. From the menu that appears, select Close Files.

Step 6

Select, cut, paste and save the rest of the file in the same way.
