Instructions

Step 1

Since the Start button is an integral part of the taskbar, its movement is possible only with the panel. By default, this panel is located at the bottom edge of the monitor screen. In some cases, it can hide behind the edge.

Step 2

Make sure you can access the taskbar without any problems. So that it does not hide behind the borders of the screen every time, press the Windows key on the keyboard and right-click in any free space of the taskbar that appears. Select Properties from the context menu.

Step 3

A new Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box will open, go to the Taskbar tab and uncheck the Automatically hide taskbar box in the Taskbar Appearance group. Apply the new settings and close the properties window.

Step 4

Click again on the taskbar with the right mouse button and make sure that the marker opposite the item "Dock the taskbar" is not set in the drop-down menu. If there is a mark, just click on the corresponding item with the left mouse button.

Step 5

The panel will change. Move the cursor to any free place in it. Make sure that the pointer does not change to a double-headed arrow, in this way you do not move the taskbar with the "Start" button, but only change its size.

Step 6

Press the left mouse button and, without releasing it, move the panel to any other edge of the screen (right, left or top). The Start button will also be moved. Remember that the taskbar can only be located at the edges of the screen, if you try to move it to another place, it will automatically take the desired position at the edge that will be closer.

Step 7

To avoid accidentally changing the settings later, pin the taskbar to a new location. To do this, right-click on it again and place the marker opposite the desired item with the left mouse button.
