Quite often, you can observe the use of video cameras not only by professional operators, but also by ordinary users. Many people are already filming home videos from holidays or events, then these videos are recorded on DVDs. You can print original covers for your discs to distinguish between home videotaped discs and famous movie discs.
Necessary
Adobe Photoshop software
Instructions
Step 1
Before you can start printing a cover, you need to create it. You will need a couple of images to create a cover image. Why just a couple and not one image? Covers consisting of 2 images look the most neat. For a family video archive, this is a photo of the whole family or a specific person + a background that will be behind the family.
Step 2
Of course, it is not necessary to use only a family photo, if you want to put another photo, even if not your own, this will also be a good option, but the background should not be removed. When using images that were not taken by your hand, please note that the author of the photos must be notified of their private use. After all, you did not want anyone else to use your photos.
Step 3
After starting the program, press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O (create a file). To create a simple cover that does not require printing, it is enough to leave the resolution at 72 dpi, otherwise you should choose a value of 300 dpi. The size of the image can be left according to the template (500x500 px).
Step 4
Upload 2 photos (personal photo + background), the personal photo must be placed higher than the background, you can do this in the layers panel by grabbing the desired layer with the left mouse button. It is worth noting that you must upload your photo that has already been edited (extra elements in the photo are cut out, only the image of people remains).
Step 5
Now you need to apply a gradient. Create a new layer (click the "Layer" menu, select "New Layer") and place it between the photo and the background using the same layers panel. To add a gradient to a layer, select a new layer in the panel, click the button labeled FX (add a layer style), select "Overlay Gradient". In the window that opens, select the "Radial" style, then select the gradient ornament. You can create your own ornament, it is preferable to choose a gradient from transparent to white.
Step 6
Now create a new layer, as you did before this step, select the "Image" menu, then the "External channel" item and click the "OK" button. Thanks to this command, you have created a copy of everything you have already done, but this copy will be on a separate layer.
Step 7
Click the Image menu, select Adjustments, and select Gradient Map from the drop-down list. Choose any gradient that best fits into the background of your cover. Then you need to sharpen this image, click the "Filter" menu, select "Sharpness" and apply 2 filters: "Sharpness" and "Sharpness at the edges".
Step 8
It remains only to add text by selecting the "Text" tool on the toolbar (on the left side of the program window). You can also add a gradient to the text as you did in the previous steps. The choice of gradient depends on your taste.
Step 9
The created cover is printed using standard tools of this program. Press Ctrl + P, select the printer that will output this image. After changing the settings related to the display of the created cover (sheet size, etc.), click the "Print" button.
