Clicking on such an element should result in the loading of some other document, not necessarily posted on the Internet - it may even be another fragment of the current page.

Step 1

Open the document in an editing program and position the insertion point at the insertion point of the link. After that, enter the full address of the page, file or site to which the hyperlink should point. If possible, copy it in your browser, rather than typing it manually - the chance of making a mistake in this case will be much less. To do this, right-click on the link in the text of the HTML page and select the "Copy link address" line in the context menu. If you need the address of a page already loaded in the browser, select the URL in the address bar and press Ctrl + C. Then switch to the text editor window and paste the copied one using the Ctrl + V keyboard shortcut.

In most modern text editors, the step described above is sufficient for the inserted web address to become a hyperlink - the program will do the rest. In Microsoft Word, this will happen after you put a space after the URL.

Step 3

If the link is required not only to be placed in the document in its original form, but to be attached to some word, paragraph or image, then several additional actions must be added to the insertion procedure. To do this, in Microsoft Word, first select the element (text, graphic or any other) that you want to make an active link. Then click on the selected area with the right mouse button and in the context menu select the line "Hyperlink" - this command opens a dialog box for entering the address.

In the Address field, enter the URL. In addition to the methods described in the first step, the dialog box allows you to select the desired address from the lists of viewed pages, documents of any folder on your computer, last opened files, etc.

Click the OK button in the dialog box, and the procedure for embedding the hyperlink into the text document will be completed.
