To avoid overheating and damage to devices installed in a laptop, it is recommended to promptly clean the fans installed on them. To do this, you need to get direct access to these devices.
Necessary
- - crosshead screwdriver;
- - Silicone Grease.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn off the laptop and take a Phillips screwdriver. Gently remove the screws that connect the bottom cover to the laptop. Remove the bottom cover, having previously disconnected the required cables. Be extremely careful: be sure to remember the connection locations of the disconnected loops.
Step 2
Now select the required fan. Unscrew it from the device to which it is attached. Be sure to disconnect the cooler power wires. Remove the fan from the slot. Carefully peel off the sticker located in the central part of the cooler. Don't throw it away.
Step 3
Now visually assess the type of cooler. If, after removing the sticker, you see a part of the axis of rotation of the blades, then just drop a little machine oil or other grease on it. Pay attention to the fact that it is necessary to use a grease that can withstand high temperatures.
Step 4
If there is a plastic or rubber cover under the sticker, remove it. To successfully lubricate this type of cooler, it must be partially disassembled. Remove the retaining ring (usually plastic) and the rubber gasket from the pivot of the blades. Remove the pivot pin from the hole. Lubricate the axle itself and drip grease into the hole in which it was located.
Step 5
Collect the cooler. Move the vanes up and down to distribute the lubricant evenly. Screw the fan back onto the device. Assemble your laptop. Do not forget to connect the previously disconnected cables. Otherwise, some devices may not work.
Step 6
Turn on your laptop and install the SpeedFan software. Run it and make sure that the installed coolers are working properly, and the temperature of the equipment to which they are connected does not exceed the permissible norm. If the temperature is still too high, increase the speed of the blades by pressing the Up arrow several times.
