Create secure DVDs to preserve sensitive information and prevent confidential files from being leaked or stolen. It is important to understand that to ensure maximum protection, it is recommended to use several techniques at once.
Necessary
- - Nero Burning Rom;
- - 7-zip.
Instructions
Step 1
Nero Burning Rom is a great tool for creating a secure DVD. Download and install the full version of this utility. Restart your computer and run the Nero.exe file.
Step 2
Select DVD-Rom (SecurDisk) from the shortcut menu. After opening a new tab, check the box next to "Data redundancy" and select 7.0 (Excellent). Now check the box next to the Password Protection option. In the field that appears, enter an identical combination twice.
Step 3
Click the Ok button. Click the Label tab and enter a name for this disc. Go to the "Recording" tab. Check the box next to the item of the same name. In the write speed column, select the required parameter. Better not to use top speed. This may result in the disc not being playable on some devices.
Step 4
After preparing the recording parameters, click the New button. Move the required data to the left column. To search for files, use the right menu of the working window. When the list of files to be burned is finished, click the Burn Now button. Wait for the completion of the data recording procedure.
Step 5
If you want to improve the quality of protection, then pack the files into an encrypted archive before writing. To do this, use the 7-zip program. First, select any file, right-click on it and select "Add to archive".
Step 6
After opening the archiver window, set the "No compression" mode. Check the box next to "Set password" and enter the desired combination. Naturally, this password must be different from the combination set to access the disk. Now just copy all other files into the data archive. Burn the resulting zip file to DVD media using Nero software as described in the previous steps.
