Enabling SSL (Secure Socket Layer) ensures secure connection and information transfer. In addition, certain websites cannot be viewed without SSL and cookie support. The procedure for enabling the required protocol can be performed without the involvement of additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Press the "Start" button to open the main menu of the system and go to the "Programs" item to perform the operation of enabling the SSL protocol.
Step 2
Select the browser you are using and launch it.
Step 3
Open the "Internet Options" link in the "Tools" menu of the top toolbar of the Internet Explorer window and go to the "Privacy" tab of the opened application dialog box (for Internet Explorer).
Step 4
Restore the default cookie settings by clicking on the button of the same name and go to the "Advanced" tab (for Internet Explorer).
Step 5
Apply the SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 checkboxes in the Security section and click OK to apply the selected changes (for Internet Explorer).
Step 6
Select the "Options" item in the "Tools" menu of the top toolbar of the Mozilla Firefox browser and select the "Privacy" group to update cookies (for Mozilla Firefox).
Step 7
Check the box "Accept cookies from sites" in the Cookie group and expand the "Advanced" node (for Mozilla Firefox).
Step 8
Select the "Encryption" tab in the dialog box that opens and apply the check boxes for "Use SSL 2.0" and "Use TLS 1.0" (for Mozilla Firefox).
Step 9
Confirm the application of the selected changes by clicking the OK button (for Mozilla Firefox).
Step 10
Select Properties from the Edit menu in the top toolbar of the Netscape browser window and select Privacy (for Netscape).
Step 11
Expand the Cookies link and apply the "Enable all cookies" checkbox (for Netscape).
Step 12
Select the SSL section in the list on the left side of the application window and apply the check boxes for "Use SSl 2" and "Use SSL 3" (for Netscape).

Click OK to apply the selected changes (for Netscape).
