Determining the version of the game server protocol may be required when it is necessary to change its values or in the process of creating a game bot. This information is stored in server configuration files and can be retrieved by the user without the need for additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the "Run" dialog box by simultaneously pressing the Win + K function keys to perform the procedure for determining the version of the game server protocol and enter the value … systemgame_name.exe -game_nameProtocolVersion into the "Open" test field. Confirm the execution of the client launch command with the required parameter by clicking OK and find the protocol version in the opened dialog box with the line game_nameProtocolVersion = xxx.
Step 2
Call the main menu of the operating system by pressing the "Start" button to carry out an alternative procedure for determining the version of the game server protocol and go to the "All programs" item. Start Windows Explorer and find a file named gamename.ini or gamenameex.ini in the system folder.
Step 3
Return to the "All Programs" item and expand the "Standard" link. Launch the Notepad application and open the file you find in it. Find the line with the value ServerProtocolVersion = xxx and define the required parameter.
Step 4
Download the archive of the specialized decoder utility l2encdec.exe, which is freely distributed on the Internet, if the contents of the document cannot be displayed correctly in the Notepad application and unzip it using standard system tools. Call the context menu of the file by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Create shortcut" command. Call the context menu of the created shortcut by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item. Enter the value -s l2.ini at the end of the Object field line and confirm the selected changes by clicking OK.
Step 5
Run the modified shortcut to correctly display the contents of the dec-l2.ini file and find the line with the value ServerProtocolVersion = xxx. Determine the required game server protocol version parameter and exit all running programs.
