Now the floppy disk as a portable storage medium is used less and less because of the capacity that is too small for modern data arrays. However, some personal computers do include floppy drives. If it is also in your computer, then the operation of copying files to a floppy disk does not require any additional software, and if it is not available, it is impossible.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the write protection on the floppy disk case - this is done by sliding the "shutter" in the hole located at the left rear corner. Then slide the floppy disk into the drive slot - a fairly loud click will indicate that the magnetic media is in the correct position.
Step 2
Start the regular file manager used by your operating system. If it is Windows OS, then its Explorer opens by double-clicking on the "My Computer" icon located on the desktop. If you do not find it there, then use the win + e hotkey combination or open the main menu on the Start button, right-click the Computer line and select the Explorer item in the pop-up context menu.
Step 3
Use the directory tree in the left pane of Explorer to navigate to the folder containing the files you want to copy to the floppy disk. If there are several of these files, then select them all. To select a group of files located one after another in the list, click on the first of them, then hold down the shift key and click on the last file in the sequence. To select files located in different areas of the same list, click all of them with the mouse while holding down the ctrl key.
Step 4
Press ctrl + c to place a list of selected files on the clipboard. The same can be done by right-clicking on the selected area and selecting "Copy" from the pop-up context menu.
Step 5
Click the drive icon in the left pane of Explorer and wait a couple of seconds for the reader to spin the disk in the floppy disk to the required speed and examine its contents. Then press ctrl + v to paste the files listed on the clipboard, and the drive will begin the process of writing copies of the files you selected to the floppy disk.
