Step 1
To draw your own desktop icons, you need to use utilities such as Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand. Also, to edit the icons you want, you will need to install Adobe Photoshop or GIMP, which are powerful graphics software packages.
Step 2
Run the selected program on your computer and draw a sketch using the appropriate editor functions. When creating a file, be guided by the fact that it must be saved in three standard resolutions for this type of graphics - 46x46, 30x30 and 14x14 pixels.

Save the resulting sketch. To do this, use the raster save mode (Paste as pixels) in the File - Save As window. Then open the resulting file using Adobe Photoshop and apply the necessary shadows to the image, and also edit the files using the tools of the program. You can overlay shadows through the Image - Drop Shadow - Angle item. Make the necessary settings using the parameters of the appeared editing window. Then create a layer for the shadow with Blend Mode - Multiply. Set the transparency parameters and click "OK".
Step 4
Merge the visible layers in the layer editor using the Merge Visible item. Save the processing result to a file using the File - Save as menu.
Step 5
Do not cover the resulting image. Remove the duplicate layer and change the color depth in the Image settings section of the image. You can also create an additional layer to adjust the background parameters and perform additional graphic transformations. Cut the image of each icon and save each file separately in the system in.
