As the operating system runs, new programs are added to the startup list. On the one hand, it is convenient, since they are loaded with the system and are immediately at hand. On the other hand, they affect system startup time and performance.
Instructions
Step 1
There are several ways to disable startup for specific applications. The first method is to use the system utility of the Windows operating system. The second is in using one of the many third-party programs to work with the operating system.
Step 2
To disable startup using the system utility, select the "Start" -> "Run" menu. In the window that opens, enter msconfig in the appropriate field, and then click OK.
Step 3
A utility called "System Configuration" (or "System Configuration" depending on the OS version) will open. Select the "Startup" tab. The window will display a list of programs that are loaded with the system. Study it carefully to identify those applications that should be disabled from startup. After you have decided on these programs, uncheck the box next to them. To save the changes, click the OK button located at the bottom of the application window.
Step 4
The second way is to use third party utilities. Among them, we can highlight such as Autoruns, CCleaner, RegCleaner, etc. Each of them has the corresponding functionality that allows you to prohibit startup for applications.
Step 5
To remove an application from startup in the Autoruns program - uncheck the box next to the required program in the list of applications loaded with the system. Also, this program allows you to sort the applications located in the startup by sections and other parameters.
Step 6
In the left menu of the CCleaner program, select the "Service" item, then open the "Startup" tab. Select those applications that do not need to be downloaded with the system and click on the "Remove" button. Alternatively, you can simply turn off the download of application data using the "Turn off" button. In the future, this will allow, if necessary, to quickly add them to the startup list.
